COFFEE HOUR - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Deb Shannon, Maggie Peterman, and Jeanne Maxon will be chairing the Coffee Hour again this year. 
The first service is Sunday the 29th of May at 9:00 am. 
Deb and Jeanne will handle the first Sunday but we need to start filling in all the rest.
Please let us know what Sundays you would or would not be available during the summer so that we can start putting a schedule together.  On Sundays with two services, there will be one Coffee Hour between the 8:00 am and 10:00 am services. 
 
At the end of last year we received a new cupboard for our supplies which is wonderful.  We will also have new coffee pots and, hopefully, insulated carafes.  Before the Sunday you are scheduled to serve, you should check the cupboard to see if you need to bring anything.   We will see to it that there are always plenty of cups and napkins.  Keeping cream is impossible so you will have to bring some. We will try to keep a supply of sugar, but check it because it has a tendency to harden if left out there.  As for the supply of coffee, we let you know whether that will be supplied or you should bring it with you.  There is a cloth/cover for the stone wall in the cupboard which you can use but you may like to bring your own.  We again encourage you to bring flowers, from your own garden if possible, or a small bouquet that you purchase.

Coffee Hour Responsibilities
Coffee hour will extend from the end of the 8:00 am service until the start of the 10:00 am service. At least two volunteers will be needed each Sunday. You will be responsible for:

  • 1. Supplying morning snacks (coffee cake, donuts, fruit, etc.)

  • 2. Arriving prior to the 8:00 am service to get the coffee ready and perking.

  • 3. Having the snacks, coffee, and needed items ready for serving at the end of the 8:00 am service.

  • 4. Greeting and welcoming church members and guests.

  • 5. Cleaning up just before the 10:00 am service.

It will be up to you as the servers to decide if you want to work together for the morning or if you want each person to have a specific responsibility. If you have not done this before, we will be happy to work with you as to where the supplies are and how it has worked best in the past.
