The Rev. Canon Brian Cole, The Cathedral of All Souls, Asheville, North Carolina, will speak on “The Wilderness of God,” a reflection on the wild places, often deserts and mountains, where God finds us and we find God. As physical place and as metaphor, deserts and mountains are often referenced in Holy Scripture and in early Christian writings as significant in shaping the “place” of Christian faith. He will explore how this theme shapes the Gospel accounts, early thinking on Christian prayer and teacher of God’s life in us.

The Rev. Scott Stoner of the Samaritan Family Wellness, Milwaukee, will discuss “Living Compass: Reclaiming the Church’s Role as a Wellness Center.”

The Rev. Gareth Lloyd-Jones, an emeritus professor at the School of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Wales, will speak on “Bishop Colenso’s Bible: A Dissident Reading.” The context will be the beginnings of biblical criticism in the mid-19th Century and the call so often heard today that we should all be “Bible-believing Christians.”
